Work of Heart Awards

The 40th Annual Work of Heart Volunteer Awards celebrates people who make a difference in the Alachua County community. The Work of Heart committee, consisting of a group of community organizations, wants to recognize volunteers and shine a spotlight on them and say, "thank you for your time and your commitment."

In 2011, more than 70 groups and individuals were nominated with 11 volunteers and six groups individually recognized. More than 230 people attended the event.

Nominees

All nominees will be recognized and recipients of categorical awards will be announced in conjunction with National Volunteer Month in April. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Paramount Plaza Hotel. Individual nominees will receive two complimentary tickets to the banquet and group nominees will receive two complimentary tickets for the group.

Those who nominate outstanding volunteers, as well as the general public, are welcome and encouraged to attend. Event tickets are $30 each and are available by calling: (352) 692-5170.
